ANN JENEMANN
I attempt to share moments of natural beauty through my landscape oil paintings. My goal is to provide the viewer with a more lasting impression of nature that they can experience.
After 10 years as a marketing research and public relations manager for a major corporation, Ann Jenemann quit her job to pursue her first love, art. She received a degree in drawing and painting from the University of Cincinnati and began showing her landscape paintings in galleries immediately after graduating.
Ann’s representational style, accomplished with loose brushwork and heighted color sense stems from her admiration of California Impressionist paintings. She paints small studies on site (en plein air). Then, working from those studies and photographs, she completes larger finished pieces in her studio.
Ann has made road trips all across the United States to paint outdoors — including Maine, Texas, Wyoming and Cape Cod. Recent painting adventures in Colorado led her to move to that state from Ohio in order to paint there throughout all four seasons. She now lives in the small mountain town of Rico, in southwest Colorado. Ann has continued her painting studies with noted landscape artists including Bill Gallen, Skip Whitcomb, Ken Auster and Jill Carver.
Ann has a real love of pets — especially dogs — and takes great joy in painting pet portraits. Some of those paintings can be seen on this website. Please contact her at www.artsmith@fuse.net to commission a portrait of your best friend.
Jenemann’s work has been exhibited and collected across the country. She is a member of Oil Painters of America and Outdoor Painters Society.
